About the studio

Three people, one careful world at a time.

Northstar Hollow is an independent game studio making atmospheric narrative games from a small room, a shared build folder, and a belief that scale is not the same thing as depth.

We work internationally and keep the team deliberately small. That lets writing, art direction, and systems stay close enough to challenge each other before the work reaches a player.

Principle 01

Clarity before scale

We choose scenes, systems, and features for how clearly they serve the game, not for how large they look in a production diary. A smaller decision with a stronger emotional consequence usually wins.

Principle 02

Atmosphere with purpose

Mood is not decoration for us. It is the way a place teaches the player what matters, where danger lives, and which silences are asking to be read.

Principle 03

Honest communication

We prefer slow, useful updates over constant noise. When we share progress, it should make the work easier to understand and the next milestone easier to trust.
